Pedagogika to kierunek studiów, który łączy w sobie zagadnienia z zakresu socjologii i psychologii, ale również medycyny, prawa czy ekonomii, a wszystko to w celu sprawnego nauczania młodego pokolenia. Bo jest to nauka o tym, jak prowadzić dziecko przez świat edukacji, jak je wychowywać na mądrego, odpowiedzialnego człowieka. Dlatego też kandydaci na studia pedagogiczne muszą charakteryzować się szeregiem cech. Przede wszystkim – lubić dzieci, pracę z nimi, być cierpliwymi i szanować cudze poglądy, umieć łatwo nawiązywać kontakty z dziećmi, zwłaszcza tymi trudniejszymi. Musi umieć panować nad swoimi emocjami – nie dawać się ponieść gniewowi, agresji, absolutnie powinien wyzbyć się tych cech podczas pracy z dziećmi, umieć odreagowywać niepowodzenia w taki sposób, by nikogo nie ranić. Absolutnie do pracy dyskwalifikują wady wymowy, choroby psychiczne, upośledzenia, niestabilność emocjonalna.
Studia z pedagogiki - jak wyglądają?
Pedagogika to w większości kierunek humanistyczny. Dlatego też głównymi realizowanymi na niej przedmiotami będą, na przykład, socjologia edukacji, filozofia, czy psychologia osobowości. Są to przedmioty konieczne dla zrozumienia natury człowieka, by w przyszłości umieć sobie radzić z jej skrzywieniami.
Wśród specjalności, jakie można podjąć na tym kierunku rozróżnia się takie jak: edukacja dorosłych i gerontologia – specyficzna nauka, która pozwala kształcić się pod kątem wychowywania dorosłych ludzi, którzy nie są przystosowani społecznie, pedagogika specjalna – nauczanie dzieci niepełnosprawnych, upośledzonych, czy edukację biblioteczną – jak sama nazwa wskazuje, polegającą na nauczaniu dzieci miłości do czytania.
Pedagogika oferowana jest przez wiele uczelni publicznych i prywatnych w Polsce, w aż czterech trybach, czyli dziennym, wieczorowym, zaocznym i online. Nauka podzielona jest na trzy stopnie: licencjat, magisterium i doktorat. Tak szeroki zakres nauczania w Polsce pozwala przygotować wykształconą, gotową do pracy z dziećmi kadrę dydaktyczną. Często pedagogika obierana jest jako dodatkowy kierunek studiów dla osób, które pragną podjąć pracę jako nauczyciele konkretnego przedmiotu.
